For AIRAH's Centenary anniversary, we are proud to announce programs to encourage students and graduates to help support them in a career in the HVAC&R industry.
AIRAH currently has a substantial number of awards and scholarship available for its members, and for the HVAC&R industry as a whole. The awards presented below complement the list that we currently offer.
AIRAH STUDENT EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Up to $2,000 (AUD) available
Did you know that AIRAH is awarding $2,000 to affray the costs of educational expenses, travel and accommodation in order to progress a student's line of study?
Criteria: Awarded to engineering and TAFE students who are enrolled full-time in a post-secondary educational institution and pursuing a recognized qualification in a course of study that traditionally led to a role in the HVAC&R profession. What's on offer: A scholarships of $2,000 is offered on a yearly basis to affray the costs of educational expenses, travel, and accommodation in order to progress their line of study. AIRAH will also offer access to all AIRAH conferences and divisional events held in your scholarship year.
Selection process and application requirements: Scholarships are awarded based on the following and for the academic year following the application deadline.
Full-time enrolment in an accredited undergraduate engineering or engineering technology or a TAFE Certificate III program or higher, recognised by AIRAH.
A strong track record of grades and results. Official transcripts will be required.
Be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident.
Two letters of recommendation, including one from an instructor or faculty adviser, and one from a current or past employer or character reference.
An evaluation letter that includes: 1. Potential service to the HVAC&R profession 2. Financial need 3. Leadership ability (activities, roles, community service, etc.) 4. Work ethic (intern or part-time jobs, etc.)
With the support of AIRAH's publications, you will be required to write a short article of what you have gained from the experience for Ecolibrium, AIRAH's industry journal.
All applications must be received by September 1, 2020. Award recipients will be notified in November.
AIRAH PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN BUILDING SERVICES – HVAC&R SCHOLARSHIP
Valued at $6,500 (AUD)
AIRAH's accredited Professional Diploma in Building Services – HVAC&R is the definitive training program for the HVAC&R industry. Providing essential knowledge and skills to engineering graduates employed in consulting or contracting firms and/or practicing trades workers. The program increases student’s exposure to the HVAC&R industry through comprehensive and practical training for the built services environment. Criteria: Scholarships are available for recent engineering graduates or those who have a trades background wanting to gain a better understanding of the HVAC&R design principles. One scholarship is available per semester.
What's on offer: The scholarship is available to cover the full cost of the Professional Diploma, including: access to the online classroom environment; all online topic resources and assessments; one night's accommodation to attend the face-to-face orientation.
Selection process and application requirements: Scholarships are awarded based on the following.
A letter of recommendation from either an instructor or faculty advisory, or from a current or past employer or character reference.

Become an AIRAH student member. Though not required for scholarship eligibility, an AIRAH membership will provide you with valuable resources, opportunities, and connections that will help you in your chosen career path.
