PRESIDENT

Ian Harwood, F.AIRAH

Ian is a Director of HDConsult – Consulting Engineers. He is based in Perth and has over 20 years’ experience in the building services industry with an avid interest in the technical side of the industry, and is active in the design and management of projects. He boasts considerable experience working on a broad expanse of building types, with particular expertise in high-rise residential, hotel and commercial buildings. Ian has a special interest in designing for humid climates, and is passionate about training and development for younger engineers.

Bryon Price, F.AIRAH

Bryon Price is a mechanical engineer with notable experience in energy efficient buildings. He is strategic development director for the A.G. Coombs Group and has been responsible for a wide range of energy and environmental projects. These have included innovative and award winning long term energy management roles with a number of major financial, commercial and retail organisations, and various Commonwealth and State Government Departments. Out of this experience his particular area of knowledge and interest is “whole of life” energy and environmental management in buildings. Bryon also has a strong track record of constructive and successful industry and policy advocacy.

Liza Taylor, M.AIRAH

Liza is the CEO and co-founder of Global IQ Group, a management consulting company specialising in the HVAC&R, sustainability and technology arena. She has spent the past 20 years working for some of Australia’s most loved brands – 3M, George Weston Foods, Pacific Brands, Hunter Douglas, and ActronAir. Her specialty is transforming ideas into business growth opportunities. She has over 10 years experience in the HVAC&R industry. Her passion for business improvement led to the completion of a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt with The University of Technology. This project conducted an in-depth study with Housing Industry Association (HIA) to identify trends in the Residential HVAC category.

Paul Jackson, F.AIRAH

Paul is the National Contracts Manager for Engineering Commissioning Services (ECS) based in Perth. He has over 35 years of experience in the building services industry. Having entered the industry as a service engineer, he has been involved in field diagnostics and commissioning of a wide variety of building services plant. Paul has a varied skill set encompassing mechanical, electrical, air conditioning, associated control systems and BMS systems. He has been extensively involved in the commissioning and project completion field including a range of very simple minor systems serving residential or light commercial through to large central plant systems in the resource sector in many parts of the world.

Mikaila Ganado, M.AIRAH

Mikaila is an Associate and part owner at GWA Consultants Australia, based in Sydney. Mikaila is a mechanical engineer and is actively involved in the design and construction management of various projects ranging from main plant and controls upgrades to essential services and fitouts across all industry sectors. Mikaila specialises in whole building energy upgrades and is passionate about improving the energy performance of existing buildings.  Mikaila is the Associate Director and President of the NSW AIRAH Committee and Chair of the Women of AIRAH STG. Mikaila also represents AIRAH on the Standards Australia ME-62 Committee.

Ura Sarfejoo, M.AIRAH

Ura is an experienced sales director with over 18 years of experience in the technical services industry, servicing clients in the commercial and industrial sectors. She has worked for global technology manufacturers like McQuay in Dubai, Trane (Dalkia) and Johnson Controls in Australia. Most recently she’s joined the sustainability and renewable energy sector, to gain a more holistic understanding of building management and energy efficiency.  Ura has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and, in 2013, a master's degree in management from Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM). Ura is also passionate about diversity and gender equality in the workplace. She was the founding chair of “Women of AIRAH”.

Tony Gleeson, M.AIRAH

Tony has over 25 years of international experience in the field of leadership, project and change management, and organisational integration. He is an innovative and energetic leader, skilled communicator and team builder, and an adept negotiator. He is recognised as a strategic business partner to executives throughout an organisation, developing and implementing projects and programs that facilitate attainment of corporate growth, revenue, and profit goals (both in a corporate and not-for-profit membership environments).

He has developed and implemented strategies and policies for organisations such as PWC, Deloitte, CPA Australia and the Australian Institute of Management.
