AIRAH'S 100 FACES

AIRAH Technical Handbook

The AIRAH Technical Handbook has long been considered one of the most valuable benefits of an AIRAH membership. For more than 30 years, it has been an integral part of AIRAH’s service to its members and is regarded as the go-to comprehensive resource for those working in the HVAC&R industry.

The Handbook summarises the key components of AIRAH’s Design Application (DA) manuals. Its success can be attributed to the hundreds of AIRAH members who have assisted in its content development, review, and curation.

First released in May 1989, the sixth edition of the Handbook will be released in April 2021 following a review and modernisation of the technical resource in AIRAH’s Centenary year.

It includes the following sections and appendices.

Sections: 1. General and fundamentals; 2. Design data; 3. Heat Transfer and insulation; 4. Air distribution systems; 5. Pipe systems; 6. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning; 7. Noise and vibration; 8. Refrigeration

Appendices: A. General – supplementary material; B. Psychrometrics – supplementary material; C. Thermal properties of materials; D. Duct design examples; E. Controls and HVAC; F. Metering and monitoring; G. Improving a building performance rating; H. Cogeneration designer checklist; I. Refrigeration – supplementary material; J. Corrosion; K. Climate data
