AIRAH's 75-Year Time Capsule

Think back to 1995.

The year marked the start of the dot-com era; Windows 95 was launched; Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated; the world tuned into OJ Simpson’s high-profile murder case; and the original Toy Story had its release.

It was also AIRAH’s 75th year.

As part of our celebrations, AIRAH National President John Shewan, F.AIRAH, led AIRAH staff in assembling an official anniversary time capsule.

It currently lives at AIRAH’s headquarters – its contents a frequent topic of staff conversation.
What might be inside? Guesses range from a vintage AIRAH Technical Handbook to a signed photo of James Harrison, or even an air filter from our then-office in West Melbourne. The suspense is building, and all will be known later this year when it's cracked open for the big reveal.

Click here for the latest information on our time capsule.

It’s also a great opportunity to get involved: We’re taking suggestions on what should go inside our Centenary time capsule. Have an idea? Please send us an email at [email protected]

At the time of writing we are compiling new contents, with plans to seal the 100th anniversary time capsule in late 2020.

The new version will remain buried until AIRAH’s next big milestone in 2045.
