AIRAH'S 100 FACES

#088

AIRAH's Conferences

Since its beginning, AIRAH has run conferences to bring the industry together and share technical knowledge, explore the latest industry offerings, and offer networking opportunities.

The first conference of the Victorian Institute of Refrigeration was at Craig’s Hotel in Ballarat in July 1920.

Over the years, AIRAH’s conferences have seen many iterations – from a three-day annual conference; multiple special interest conferences; and 2020, with the delivery of these events in a virtual environment due to COVID-19.

One common theme has been the continued dedication and support from AIRAH members and broader industry in shaping the events. Our committees and members provide input on program development; present their technical papers; showcase the latest equipment; and welcome delegates.

The AIRAH conferences are organised by the members, for the members.

Beyond the historical three-day annual conference (last held in the late 1990s), AIRAH has expanded its conference offerings to multiple events throughout the year to focus on specific aspects of the industry.

These conferences and forums have and will continue to be a major source of networking and opportunities to learn about industry best practices. These events are not just for AIRAH members, either – they are for the betterment of the broader HVAC&R community as well.

In recent memory, some highlights in AIRAH’s conference and forum programming includes:

• Refrigeration
• The Future of HVAC
• Preloved Buildings
• Environmentally Sustainable Design
• The Green Dream
• Building Physics
• Big Data and Analytics
• Natural Refrigerants
• Outlook 2020 (AIRAH's Centenary conference)
